How Do I Know if My Dog is a Good Candidate for Doggy Day Care?
My dog enjoys being around and playing with other dogs. The first day of day care helps to determine whether your dog enjoys doggy day care and the first day is free! If your dog is not enjoying the day or seems to be uncomfortable we will let you know. Most dogs can’t wait to come to Bark Lodge!
What is Required for My Dog’s First Day?
- Dogs must be at least 4 months old
- Spayed or neutered (if 7 months or older)
- Current on vaccinations for Rabies, Distemper and Bordatella
(Copy of vet records are required.) - Flea and tick free
- Quick release collar
- Friendly to all dogs
What Can I Expect on the First Day?
When you bring your dog to Bark Lodge for the first time, we check you in at the
front desk, ask questions, review your proof of vaccinations and take your dog to
begin meeting a few similarly sized dogs to evaluate their behavior. After the evaluation,
your dog will enjoy the first day of day care, compliments of Bark Lodge.
What Should I Bring if My Dog Boards for the Night?
- Food. We have premium food available for $2 per meal but we prefer to feed your
dog what your dog is accustomed to eating at home. It is best not to change your
dog’s diet while you are away from home. - Treats. Please feel free to bring treats but we ask that you bring only those
treats that your dog is accustomed to eating at home. - Bedding. We provide bedding for your dog but you can bring
bedding from home if you like. - Medicine. Please don’t forget any medication that you dog may
need with specific instructions about administering.
